You don’t have to pay for a house valuation
If you’re looking to sell your house with an estate agent, then no. They obviously, most of them, offer free valuations. I’ve never known any agent charge for a valuation for wanting to sell your house. Generally, where you will have to pay for a house valuation is where you’re buying one on a mortgage. Obviously, the mortgage company want to make sure that the property that you’re buying is at the correct value. So they will instruct a surveyor on your behalf. You’ll be paying for it. It might be added to your mortgage.
But that’s the most common way where you’ll have to pay for a house valuation when you buy, and not when you sell it at all. It’s pretty simple. There’s no estate agents that will charge you for a valuation if you’re putting it on the market.
