There’s a lot of people who store quite a lot of their personal belongings in a property. And if people come into a property and they see it’s stashed all over with items like ornaments and furniture and alike, it can put them off. Because having all that in a property makes the rooms look smaller.
Decluttering will make it more attractive, make your rooms look bigger and more attractive to buyers.
So, how do you declutter fast?
- Go through what you need and what you want to keep.
Obviously, you’re going to be moving on. Do you want to take everything with you? If you want to take everything with you, then it might be a good idea to just take out a storage contract with a local storage company, it can be some basic storage for a few weeks where you put all the clutter items in leaving your house looking spacious and neat.
- And if you don’t want to do that, then you could go onto Gumtree.
If it’s got any value, you could even sell it using places such as Gumtree, Facebook Market Place or local charity shops. We’ve done that before and got rid of a lot of stuff. Furniture, cabinets, stuff like that you maybe don’t want to keep and have got no real value might be valuable to somebody else.
Decluttering your house is a benefit
No doubt, because it will show your house to be a lot bigger than when having stuff all over.
I’ve been in a lot of properties. I’ve been to a lot where there’s boxes and boxes. People hoard. A lot of people hoard, and there’s boxes of stuff, ornaments, everywhere, China cabinets, two or three in a room.
and you don’t want that.
The more they’re out of the way then, obviously, it’s going to show your house in a much better light.
