How To Sell An Old House Fast

“How do you sell an old house fast?” Well, I’m sorry, I don’t see the difference between an old house and a new house. They’ll all go at the same speed.

Selling an old house vs a new house will sell roughly at the same pace unless their is mitigating factors.

An old house might have listed building status and or building restrictions. If it’s a listed building then this list is going to make it go soon if you don’t have any changes and it’s had the appropriate listed building consent and planning consent.

If everything’s straightforward, then it’ll go through fine.

I actually live in a house that was built in the early 1800s. If I was selling, I wouldn’t see a problem with it. It’s not a listed building, it’s an old stone-built building and it’s no different to sell than any other property including new builds.

So really you don’t have a problem selling an old property fast.

If you want to sell to one of the quick house sale companies, they’ll just treat it exactly the same as any other property. They will take maybe a closer look at things and make sure it hasn’t got damp and stuff like that and that its in good condition.

If it’s all in good condition, fine. The only down side with some old properties is they can have old roofs on and things like that that might not have been damp-proofed. And people might say, “Oh well, yeah, they could see problems in the future.” But on the whole, if they’re looked after properly, then they’ll be fine and you’ll have no problem selling this as fast as any other.
