Who Will Buy My House As Is

Often I get asked, “who will buy my house as is, in the current condition it’s in?”

People are always looking for property. Not everybody is looking for the perfect property every time because everybody has different taste.

A property that might need a bit of refurbishment, might appeal to quite a lot of buyers who want to put their own stamp on the property. Design things how they want it, adopt their own colour schemes and design preferences.

So don’t worry about selling as is, because there will be buyers out there.

Obviously, if it’s in a dated condition then you’re not going to get the same price as one that’s in tip-top condition.

So you need to have a look on Zoopla and Rightmove, and then you’ll see what’s been selling, roughly, at what price. If you can’t get it in your street, expand the area out to neighboring streets and that should give you a bit of an idea.

So, you don’t always have to worry about that. We get quite a lot of enquiries to sell properties as is. And a lot of these are properties that have been inherited or wear parents have moved into care homes. And they just want to sell it as it is.

And they come to me and ask the question. I say, “Well, look, everybody wants to put their own stamp on it. Don’t worry about it. We’ll value it accordingly and it will sell.”

Let’s say, for instance, that in really good condition its worth £120,000. But yours is in need of a bit of work. It could do with a new bathroom, new kitchen, update and plastering, stuff like that. It might need £10,000 spending on it. In that condition you might be able to sell it for between £90-100,000.

There’ll be somebody there that’ll take it. Maybe even a little bit more. So it just gives you a bit of an idea of how that works.

Hope that helps. If you want to give me a call any time to discuss this in more detail, please feel free. My number is 0191 486 2386.
